AP JEWELLERS CO

01

About these terms

These terms apply when you buy from, sell to, book with or leave a piece for repair with AP Jewellers Co ("we", "us"), at our showrooms in Canary Wharf, London and Business Bay, Dubai, or remotely.

We are an independent dealer. We are not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by any watch or jewellery manufacturer. Brand names are used only to describe the pieces we hold.

02

Our website and prices

  • Our website is a showcase, not a shop. Nothing on it is an offer to sell, and you cannot buy through it.
  • Prices are given on request and confirmed in writing. A price is valid only for the period we state.
  • Every piece is unique and subject to prior sale until it is reserved or paid for.
  • Photos and descriptions are given in good faith. Colours and sizes can look different on screen, so please view a piece in person or ask for more photos before buying.

03

Buying watches and jewellery

  • Condition: we describe each piece as unworn or pre-owned, and state whether it comes with box and papers. Pre-owned pieces may show signs of wear consistent with their age.
  • Authenticity: every piece is inspected before sale. If a piece we sold you is proven not to be genuine, we will refund the full price you paid.
  • Reservations: we may hold a piece for you against a deposit. Deposits are non-refundable unless we cannot complete the sale.
  • Payment: ownership passes to you only once we have received payment in full in cleared funds. We accept bank transfer and other methods we agree with you.
  • Identity checks: anti-money-laundering law requires us to verify your identity for some purchases. We may decline or delay a sale until this is done.
  • Delivery: we offer fully insured delivery. The piece remains at our risk until it is delivered to you or collected.

04

Returns and your rights

  • In-showroom purchases: please inspect your piece before you leave. We do not accept returns for a change of mind.
  • Distance purchases: all sales are final, including pieces bought without visiting our showroom. We do not offer refunds or accept returns, so please ask for any photos, videos or details you need before you buy.
  • Bespoke and altered pieces: pieces made, sized or engraved to your request cannot be returned unless faulty.

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer, including under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the UAE Consumer Protection Law.

05

Warranty

Where we offer our own warranty on a watch, its length and cover are stated on your receipt. It covers the movement under normal use and does not cover accidental damage, water damage after the case has been opened by someone else, wear to straps, crystals or plating, or loss and theft. Any remaining manufacturer's warranty passes to you with the papers.

06

Repairs, servicing and alterations

  • Estimates: we inspect your piece and give a written estimate. No work starts until you approve it. If we find further work is needed, we ask you first.
  • Timings: turnaround times are estimates, as some work relies on specialist workshops and parts.
  • Our responsibility: we insure pieces in our care and take reasonable care of them. Older or fragile pieces can be affected by servicing, and we will tell you of any known risks before we start.
  • Repair guarantee: work we carry out is guaranteed for the period stated on your receipt.
  • Collection: please collect your piece within 90 days of us telling you it is ready. After that we may charge for storage. Pieces uncollected after 12 months, following written reminders, may be sold to cover what is owed, as the law allows.
  • If you decline an estimate, we may charge a reasonable inspection fee, which we will tell you about in advance.

07

Selling or part-exchanging with us

  • Valuations given online or by message are guides only. Our final offer is made after we inspect the piece in person.
  • By selling to us you confirm that you own the piece outright, that it is not stolen or subject to any finance, and that you have the right to sell it.
  • We check pieces against stolen-watch registers and may report concerns to the police.
  • We pay once the inspection is complete and your identity is verified.
  • For consignment, we agree the price, our commission and the period in writing before we accept the piece.

08

Private viewings and appointments

  • Both showrooms are open Monday to Saturday, by appointment only, and closed on Sundays.
  • A booking request is confirmed only once we reply to you. Please bring photo ID to your appointment.
  • If you need to change or cancel, please let us know at least 24 hours before.
  • We may need to reschedule an appointment, and will offer you another time as soon as we can.
  • Pieces you ask to see are shown subject to availability.

09

Our liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable or for business losses. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or where the law does not allow it.

10

Governing law

Purchases and services at our London showroom are governed by the law of England and Wales, and those at our Dubai showroom by the law of the UAE as applied in Dubai. You may bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.
